About Our Music Schools

SCHOOL BACKGROUND

We are a privately-held company with schools in Powell, Dublin, Lewis Center, and Hilliard, Ohio. Our first store, the Powell Academy of Music, opened in 2008 and our second location, the Lewis Center Music Academy, opened in June, 2017. Our third location opened in Hilliard in June of 2020. In 2022 we purchased First Choice Music Studio in Dublin, Ohio and rebranded it as the Dublin Music Academy. We are the largest music school in Columbus, OH and one of the fastest growing in the midwest.

As a company that is locally owned and operated by music professionals, we understand the obstacles, frustrations, rewards, and challenges that teachers face every day when striving to provide top-notch educational services to their students. 

During our 10+ years in the educational field, we have implemented and continue to develop a variety of unique systems to ensure that our faculty minimize time spent on administrative tasks and maximize their time spent in doing what they love.

About Our Director

Citing his family as his biggest musical influence, and coming from 4 generations of professional musicians, Chad started his musical education at 3 years old. He began his college training at the age of 16, in Jazz Studies as a Pianist and has also studied under Jazz legend Tony Monaco. In addition to his training in Jazz piano he has studied classical technique in the Taubman Method and is one of only a handful of pianists in Ohio that teach the technique. He is the author of The Music Parent's Handbook (a guide for parents of music students). As a member of the National Piano Guild and the Music Teachers National Association he is dedicated to providing high quality music education in a fun environment.
